House of a 1000 Corpses

House of a 1000 Corpses is a 2003 horror film written and directed by Rob Zombie, and staring Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Karen Black. The plot focuses on two young couples who are held hostage by a sadistic blackwoods family on Halloween night. Filmed in 2000, the movie was originally bought by Universal Pictures, and a large portion of it was filmed on the Universal Pictures backlots, but it was ultimately shelved by the company in fear that it would receive an NC-17 rating. The rights were re-purchased who then sold the film to Lions Gate Entertainment.

On October 1977, Jerry Goldsmith, Bill Hudley, Mary Knowles, and Denise Wills are two couples off on the road in hopes on writing a book on offbeat roadside attractions. When they meet Captain Spaulding a vulgar but friendly owner of the gas station and "Museum of Monsters & Madmen", they learn the local legend of Dr. Satan. As the four take off in search of the tree where Dr. Satan was hanged, they run into a young hitchhiker named Baby who only lives a few miles away. Shortly after, their tire bursts in a trap made by the family and Baby walks into her family's house along with Bill. Only moments later, Baby's half brother Rufus picks up the stranded passengers to take them home.

Later that night, the young couples meet Mother Firefly, Baby's mother; Otis Driftwood; Baby's adopted brother, Grampa Hugo; Baby's grandfather, and Baby's giant deformed half brother Tiny. While being treated with a Halloween dinner, they discovered that the family has their own weird Halloween traditions. Mother Firefly then beings to tell the story of her ex husband, who tries to burn Tiny, her family, and the house down. That he was angry and didn't mean it and that's why Tiny is deformed. After dinner, the family then beings to put on their Halloween show for the guests, where Baby offends Mary by putting on a flirtatious ct for her boyfriend Bill. After Mary threatened Baby, Mother Firefly tell the group to leave and that their car is repaired. As they try to leave, they are then attacked by Otis and Tiny. Being taken as prisoners. Not long after that, Otis turns Bill's body into a "work of art". Mary is tied up, abused, and shown the body of Bill. Denise is bed bound and dressed up as a baby doll and Jerry is scalped because he fails when trying to guess Baby's movie star.

After Denise does not return home, his father begins to worry and makes phone calls to to may ever had seen her last. He then calls the police right after to search for her. Two Deputy Sheriffs find the couples abandoned car in a field and a abused victim in the trunk. Mother Firefly then receives a knock on the door from three Deputies in search of the two couples. She tells the officers that she hasn't seen them or know who they are. As they begin to leave, they find the bodies, and the three are then quickly killed. Later that night, the three remaining kids are taken underground while dressed as rabbits, a reference that Otis made in the movie about how "scared kids run like rabbits", and Mary manages to escape. Baby begins to chase her and then is killed shortly after. 


Denise and Jerry and lowered into the underground chamber. Jerry is left behind and Denise is forced to explore the underground chambers alone while trying to find her way out. She then encounters Dr. Satan and deformed mental patients. Dr. Satan has Jerry on his operating table, skinning him alive. As Dr. Satan yells for his assistant who is also Mother Firefly's ex-husband, to capture Denise, she out smarts him and escapes the underground chambers. After she's back on the road, she is then picked up by Captain Spaulding and passes out in the front seat due to being tired. Otis appears from the backseat with the knife. The movie ends with Denise being killed by Otis and skinned alive.  

This was most definitely one of Rob Zombie's best movies in my opinion. The family was sick and twisted and the gore was never ending. You don't know what comes next when you first watch this movie. What you think is going to happen doesn't always happen. This was a 4 out of 5 stars hands down in my opinion. If you haven;t seen it, definitely watch this. Rob Zombie knows how to make the best horror movies. His sick and twisted thoughts make the movies great. Like it's real. 

Night of the Demons 1988

Night of the Demons, a 1988 horror film also known as Halloween Party was written and produced by Joe Augustyn and directed by Kevin S. Tenny. This film tells the story of ten high school senior students who throw a Halloween party in an isolated mortuary. Their party turns to hell after preforming a seance at a party game. They unleash the evil spirits that haunt the land. 

Stooge, Helen, and Rodger are driving to a party thrown by the high school out cast Angela Franklin and her best friend Suzanne at Hull House. The local mortuary is abandoned. The car passes and old man who is carry apples and razor blades. Judy returns home and finds out that her boyfriend Jay wants to attend Angela's party. She doesn't want to go and is unsure about it, but attends anyways. Jay, Max, and Frannie pick her up. Judy and her friends arrive at Hull House, where Max and one of the other party goers tell her about the legend of Hull House. The Hull House is rumored to be cursed, where the evil spirits are contained by an underground stream that surrounds the entire building. During the set up of the party, Judy attempts to light candles with an empty lighter.

The party stops when the battery in the radio dies. Angela decides to keep the party going by performing a seance to keep the party going. During the seance Helen looks at her reflection in the glass mirror they found in one of the empty rooms, and see's the demon face to face, then see's how she will; die. She screams loud enough to wake the dead, then the mirror proceeds to fall and shatter on the old wood floor. Helen states that she wants to leave and Rodger feels the same. As they're about to leave, Helen, Rodger, and the rest all smell different scents in the room. One scent that smells horrid, and the other smells like roses. Helen and Rodger then are given Angel's car keys by the first possessed Suzanne. Jay, Judy, Max, and Frannie leave to explore the rest of Hull House, and the now-possessed Suzanne follows with one of the male party goers. 

As time goes on, Angela, and slowly the rest of the group, other than Judy and Rodger become possessed and their party turns to a night of hell in Hull House. According to history as time goes on, Angela is the only body not found at the scene and apparently the devils favorite. 

Judy and Rodger fight for their lives and are able to cross the underground stream and the high brick wall that keeps them from leaving. On their journey home from hell, they pass the old man's house who in the beginning had apples and razor blades that he was going to give to the children who were trick or treating. He goes outside to retrieve the morning news paper. After sitting down waiting for his morning coffee and apple pie, his wife explains that he had to many left over apples and turned them into a pie. Not knowing this before he took a bite, bites into not only apples but razor blades inside the apples. His wife knew what he was up to, and killed him before he killed the children of the neighborhood. Then kisses his dead corpse on the head saying "Happy Halloween Dear." The movie ends and then to the credits. 

This was my first horror film I've ever seen as a child. Also my first childhood memory. This has been my favorite classic ever since, and one of the only horror movies left with a good concept and the best gore ever. I sometimes watch this movie over and over again. It's to hard not to. Please check out this horror flick if you never heard of it before. It's a classic, but will blow you away.

Evil Dead 2013

Evil Dead is a 2013 American horror film co-written and directed by Fede Alvarez. It is the fourth Evil Dead movie made. This is the first not directed by Sam Raimi. 

The story begins with a young girl being captured in the woods by a group of rednecks. She awakens tied to a post in the basement, with an old woman reading from an ancient book, saying her soul must be saved. The girl's father, Harold, is about to light her on fire, and she instantly begs for him to save her, but then she reveals that she is possessed. As her skin turns pail and her eyes turn yellow. Her father then shoots her in the head, and she is then buried.

Sometime later, a group of friends is meeting in an old cabin deep in the woods. Mia begins to detox from her drug addiction with the support of all her friends, Eric, Olivia, her brother David, and his girlfriend Natalie. David is Mia's surprise since their relationship became strained since their mother's passing. David fears that he may suffer the same mental illness as his mother.

After Mia's breakdown and after David discovering the secrets that lye below the cabin in the basement, Mis tries to warn them of the evil that has began in the cabin and tries to leave, only for her friends to think that she's leaving to find more drugs. Mia then becomes possessed and kills their dog not knowing what she's doing. She then burns her face and body in a hot shower that leave 3rd degree burns all over her body. David attempts to drive her to a hospital, but only to find out that the roads are flooded from the rain. Back at the cabin, a possessed Mia warns the group they will not survive the night and then faints. Olivia gives her a strong sedative, but Mia approaches the group in the living room and shoots her brother in the arm with a double-barrelled shotgun; then she collapses. Olivia approaches Mia to retrieve the gun, but Mia attacks her, vomiting red, blood-like liquid on Olivia's face. In the struggle, Mia falls into the cellar and the group locks her in. As Olivia attempts to retrieve more sedatives, she becomes possessed. Directed by a force documented in the book, Olivia cuts the skin off the lower half of her face with a piece of glass. When Eric tries to stop her, she attempts to stab him to death with a knife and syringe but is stopped when he breaks off a piece of the sink and smashes her head.

Then the horror begins, everyone begins to die one by one. With only one to be left alive at the end.. Mia is the soul survivor. David saves his sister by burying her alive while she is possessed and then digs the body back up. The uses electric shock to bring her back to her normal self. David dies to protect his sister. She lives with only one hand missing from her body.

This movie in my eyes was the best movie of the year and an amazing remake. Even though the story has been changed up, the story the cabin holds and the secrets the ancient book holds is what makes this movie so great. Non stop horror from beginning to end and all the blood and gore you could ever imagine. I was very skeptic when I first saw the preview, but this movie has proven my thoughts wrong. This is a must see remake. You'll need someone to hold on to through the whole movie.

The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project is a 1999 American psychological horror film written and directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez. Though fictional, it was pronounced as "found footage" as if pieced together as amateur footage. This is the story..

Three young college students Heather Donahue, Michael C. Willams, and Joshua Leonard were working on a documentary of the legend of the Blair Witch. This was a part of their class for film. They went to Burkittsville Maryland, formerly Blair, to interview some of the residents who know of the legend that haunts the town. After interviewing, they then traveled to the woods where the horror took place to see if the legend is true. Only to find out that their nightmare begins.

They ended their first night in the dark woods and set up camp. Late that night, they began to hear noises. Thinking it was a deer just walking around, the loud foot steps and noises began to get louder and louder.

This began to get worse and worse as the cold days and nights went on. Then one night they discovered the legend of the Blair Witch to be true. Hearing moaning out side of their tent and the tent begins to shake. They have gotten their warning from the Blair Witch herself. Toying and playing mind games with the group.

They went in search of their car, only to end up going in circles. They couldn't find their way out of the woods. The next morning they discover Josh had gone missing. They went everywhere to find them only to find blood and Josh's belongings. They never found him. Until one night they heard screaming. They went out looking for him in the cold dead of night and came across an old abandoned house. They went in the house and the screaming started to get louder and louder. It was coming from the basement of the house. Michael ran down first hoping to find him still alive, but ended up face and body up against the wall. Heather saw Michael and began to scream. Calling for help but no answer. Then Heather drops the camera and falls to the floor. The footage at the end remains silent, and you never hear them again.

A year later their footage was found, and the story that haunts the town of Burkittsville Maryland lives on..

Many people believe this as true, but just a movie. Till this day, it still scares me. The thought of being in the dark, cold woods alone and can't find your way out is terrifying. The thought of a witch hungry to kill is even worse. This was one of my favorite childhood memories. This will leave you in fear, and you'll be afraid to shut your eyes and keep them open...
